Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
(2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT)
Over the course of my teaching career, I’ve had to be evaluated a couple of times. Although I passed my first evaluation, I didn’t think it was my best work. In fact, the evaluation wasn’t something I wanted to keep in my professional profile. However, God spoke to my heart about keeping it for my records, so that I (and others) could look back and see how He had taken my areas of weakness and turned them into strengths. In today’s passage, Paul, too, boasted gladly about his weakness because he recognized that the power of God worked best through his weakness. Learn to delight in your weakness, so that the power of God can work through you too.
God’s power works best through our weakness.
