But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment. (Luke 23:56 NIV)
Saturday was silent. Not much is recorded in Scripture about what happened after Jesus died on Friday, except that it was a traditional day of rest. In this instance, it was rest for those who were grieving the death of their best friend and rest for the devil who thought he had won. Little did everyone know that God’s silence didn’t mean He was finished…yet. He was preparing them – and us – for the greatest miracle ever: the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, His victory over death and the devil.

I’ve witnessed it countless times in my own life. Every time I thought God was silent, I watched Him come through for me in some mighty way. So I’ve learned to rest in His unconditional love and perfect peace because I know that although He may seem silent, He is actually at work on my behalf. Saturday may be silent, but Sunday is coming! God is going to exceed your expectations, proving to you once again, that He is the God of the impossible.
