If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?
(Romans 8:32 MSG)
I once heard a young girl express a wish to marry a rich man. “I hope that you’ll love him too and not just his money,” I remarked. “Of course, I’ll love him and his kids too,” she answered. Her desire to be with someone wealthy got me thinking about how oftentimes, people pursue God’s presents rather than His presence. There are very few Christians who seek God for who He is than for what He has. In today’s Scripture, Paul asks a very good question, “If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?” (Romans 8:32). Yes, God is the ultimate giver, but He is also looking for people who will seek His presence rather than His presents. Seek Him today.
If you chase God, blessings will chase you.
