More Than Royalty and Romance

“Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

(Esther 4:14 NLT)

God had greater things in mind for Esther than just royalty and romance. He used her to save the lives of her Jewish people when she realized her purpose in life. We find a similar pattern in the lives of other men and women who became kings and queens in the Bible. Although Joseph was a prince among his brothers, his purpose in life was also to save lives (Genesis 50:20; Deuteronomy 33:16). And Jesus, the Messiah, our King, came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10).

There’s got to be more to life than just meeting prince charming, getting married, having kids and whatever else society defines as our sole purpose in life. God “wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4 NIV), and He is looking for people who will make that their purpose in life. Let’s not just know Jesus, let’s make Him known.
